Welcome to fifth grade!

I am so excited to have you in my class. Thank you to all who attended “meet the teacher,” I enjoyed seeing so many smiling faces!

Here are a few reminders about our class:

• School starts promptly at 7:30am and ends at 2:50pm.
• Ancillary: 8:35-9:25
• Lunch: 12:21-12:51pm (Parents may join students at lunch starting September 17th)
• Science lab on Thursdays at 9:30am
• Library on Tuesdays at 1:00pm
• First Unit of Inquiry: How the World Works

Rainy Day Dismissal: During times of inclement weather, parent walk-up students are dismissed from inside the building in designated locations. Fifth graders will be waiting outside of my classroom

First week of school plans:

• Creating essential agreements
• Becoming familiar with routines, schedules, and expectations
• Practicing math problem solving - problem of the day & exit tickets
• Beginning our class novel
• Assessing reading levels
• Setting up subject area journals
