Week 21

Reminders:

  • EXHIBITION: On Monday, students will begin creating their art products each afternoon. We will have mentors to guide and support them, although your child will be responsible for all materials needed for the product they have chosen. We ask that they come to school prepared (with necessary supplies) to begin constructing their artform on Monday so that no valuable time is wasted. Thanks for your support!
  • EARLY DISMISSAL on Wednesday, 1/25
  • DLAs (Practice STAAR Test) coming up 1/31 (Math), 2/2 (Reading), ⅔ (Science)

Math: Stem and leaf plots, frequency tables, bar graphs, and dot plots (4th grade objectives, but we include decimals and fractions in their data sets). Do you remember how to order and organize decimals and fractions? (The math journal is a great resource to review!)
GO MATH 15.4, 16.1-16.4

Reading: We are beginning book clubs again! Yay!!! We will be focusing on character traits and how characters develop throughout a novel. Students will be assigned their book on Monday, and will be given daily reading expectations (and no reading ahead!) so that a meaningful discussions can be had with all group members.
Spelling and Quizlet on Friday

Science:  Earth Science test on Friday (W-E-D, rock cycle, weather vs. climate, soil, landforms, water cycle) Students have all the notes they need for studying in their science journal, and we will review throughout the week.
Extra: Grand Canyon Video! Super awesome!

Social Studies: War of 1812
