Week 18

Reminders:
  • Beginning this Monday, January 29th, the district is adding 10 extra minutes to the end of each school day to make up for instruction lost due to this month’s winter ice storm. Students will be at their dismissal sites and ready for pick up at 3:30pm.

  • Dance show - Thursday, February 15, 6:30pm 
Math: On Monday and Tuesday, we will continue our study of metric conversions. We will also review for a customary and metric measurement and conversions test to be taken on Wednesday. On Thursday, we will begin to work with perimeter, area, and volume.
Problem Solving Quiz on Friday

ELA: We will begin a new book club (yay!) focusing on character traits and development throughout a novel. We will also continue to support our exhibition outline main points with evidence, then use transition words and phrases to begin forming our essays.
Spelling and quizlet quizzes on Friday. (We will have this week's spelling quiz over the week 17 list that we did  not have time to take last Friday)

Science: Water cycle and weather vs. climate. There will be a test over the earth science topics we have covered over the past few weeks on Monday, February 5. (Weathering, erosion, deposition, constructive & destructive forces, landforms, soil, weather vs. climate, water cycle)

Social Studies: We will continue looking at westward expansion and exploring why Americans moved West? Additional/related topics: Trail of Tears, Louisiana Purchase, Manifest Destiny
